What is unique about your business?
Every single piece created at Hive & Colony is, in the most literal sense, one-of-a-kind. Designed to the smallest detail and tailored from scratch by you and for you, respectively. It’s not about finding your fit, it’s about creating it!
How have you pivoted given the current circumstances?
The global health crisis has affected us and our communities in unimaginable ways, but love, as well as fashion, isn’t cancelled! So, we took the opportunity to turn our shopping experience into something even more personal and cutting-edge with private, one-on-one appointments and contactless 3D body scanning. We also ensure each showroom remains a safe space for us and for you, practicing social distance and providing protective gear.
How did you pick the name of the business?
A symbol of teamwork and craftsmanship, created by the single most consistent species in the animal kingdom, the name Hive & colony precisely correlates with our values – personalized, detailed, thorough and awe-inspiring.
What motivates you?
Our biggest motivation has always been, and always will be, our clients. Most of them, if not all, have already shopped in other places, but they came to us because they wanted to create something ONLY they were able to come up with. While other brands may offer the latest trends in fashion, Hive & Colony offers the ultimate chance to express yourself, like nobody else can.
If you had to give just one piece of advice to couples planning their wedding, what would it be?
First and foremost, do it YOUR way. This day is all about you, so keep it that way! But if there’s one thing we learned from all the couples we dressed, is that you can never start planning too soon. Don’t rush into any commitments (except, of course, for that big one you’re celebrating), but do spend time to do the research, explore all options and make your choices. On time, not for the lack of it.
